Open Air Workshop - Bodrum

In addition to the planned six pieces, there is Oh Deer!, and total 7 pieces are on the way. Yesterday I have painted the first coat of the bases and today I am planning to finish the paint job for all.

It takes more time than I expected due to trips to Istanbul in between but I am on it :) By the way, this is the bonus piece of the second batch. It is an adaptation of a spray art on a net.

Update - Second Batch

I am working on the second batch of Capsules and Light project since January and just completed the stencilling of six pieces, including the first commissioned work.

These are 06-Çomçom (name of our boat in Bodrum), 08-212 (the commissioned one), 05-A7 (ICAO Prefix of Qatar)

and 00-Neden?/Why?, 07-SFO and 09-The Leaf.

As all pieces in this project are destined to end up at some other places, these six will also go to my friends respectively; Alp & İnci, Numan, Ferit, Nezir, Melda & Özerk. The Leaf will be on sale and all amount is going to be donated to Greenpeace.

Now I am expecting to receive the MDF bases in order to start workshop part of the process.

How? - Stencilling

Round cutter helps a lot! It reduces the time I spend on each stencil.

Second Seven - Scaling

I have started to work on the next batch. It used to be "second seven" but after scaling down the ideas, I ended up with only six, including below one derived from the #00 Neden? / Why?

By the way, you may also follow Capsules and Light on Instagram (@capsuleart) to get updates about the upcoming second batch.

ON - OFF

In the first batch of the project, I decided to add a simple switch and a nice colour knitted cable to each piece after all work. I ended up with some additional wood work to install it which was not easy. In the upcoming works, I will plan the process accordingly.

Switches are located on the side of the frame in case you need to place it on a rack or surface.
